~ NEW BUSINESS START-UP ~
The Client: Billion Dollar Industrial Solutions Group
The Role: Regional Head of Business Development
The Vacancy: Vacant for more than 4 months
The Challenge : Multinational Industrial Solutions group had a new mandate to Diversify into the Utilities industry globally. The group in Asia had engaged their own resources and industry network to identify a suitable candidate to set up and develop the new business in the region without success for more than 4 months.
The challenge was to identify a candidate with more than 15 years in the Utilities or Environmental industry, with strong Project Management experience in million dollar industrial projects and the personality, leadership and drive to develop a completely New Business Initiative.
The Scope : Our Consultant was engaged and conducted an in-depth search into the specialized Utilities, Environmental and Process industries in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Philippines and Australia .
The Result: Within 2 months, the final candidate was identified and appointed to the position.
~ SUCCESSION PLANNING ~ The Client : Billion Dollar Financial Services Group
The Role: Regional Head, IT Shared Services
The Vacancy: More than 6 months
The Challenge: Multinational Financial Services group had engaged significant internal resources as well as conducted a search for the position through several recruitment firms. After more than 6 months without success, our Consultant was engaged to conduct a regional search for the potential candidate.
Challenge was to find an Asian candidate to replace an Expatriate incumbent. Profile required included 20 years experience in the Financial Services industry, a strong track record in Setting up and Managing similar operations, International Secondments, a Dynamic Personality and excellent Leadership skills.
The Scope: The search was conducted across Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. More than 100 people were contacted and interviewed.
The Result: After 2 months, a successful candidate was identified and appointed to the position.
~ START UP & RAPID REGIONAL EXPANSION ~ The Client: Billion Dollar Telecommunications Group
The Roles: Regional Heads of Business Development for Asean, North Asia & Japan respectively Regional Head of Engineering Regional Head of Sales & Marketing Regional Head of Regulatory Affairs Head of Network Operating Centre Sales Directors Project Managers
The Challenge: Multinational Telecommunications group setting up Regional Headquarters in Singapore and offices in Hong Kong and Japan. Challenge of the assignment was the fast track ramp up of key positions, in spite of the very niche business that the client was in. Client was also new to the Asia Pacific market and regulations, requiring further support in terms of education and orientation.
The Scope: A combination of search and selection methodology was conducted across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong & Japan. Target industries included Telco Operators, Satellite Communications Providers, IT & Networking Solution Providers and ISPs.
The Result: Within 3 months, 15 successful candidates were appointed across 3 offices in the region.
